The Communist Youth League of China appoints the youngest leader in its history

A Dong, 52, will take over the position in the organization that cements the future of communism in China.

The Communist Party of China (CPC) appointed A Dong as the new secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), the party's main youth-affiliated body.

According to the South China Morning Post newspaper, Dong, 52, will be the youngest person to hold this official position, succeeding He Junke as head of the Communist Youth League. Previously, he was vice governor and director of the publicity department of the northeastern province of Jilin, according to the South China Morning Post.

This is what the Communist Youth League of China is like

The Communist Party of China knows that in order to strengthen its ideology, it is necessary to secure its foundations. To do so, they use the League of Chinese Youth (CYLC), a wholly party-dependent organization with some 73.5 million members between the ages of 14 and 28.

It was founded in 1920 under the name of the Socialist Youth League of China. Five years later it adopted its current name. The CYLC is in charge of coordinating and directing all levels of education in the country, therefore it can easily indoctrinate the Chinese from a very young age.

It has its own flag, anthem -Glory! Communist Youth League- and emblem. In addition, members have to fulfill a series of obligations such as studying Marxist-Leninist and Mao Zedong Thought. They must promote the CCP ideology and apply it to all areas of life and respect the discipline of the CYLC.
