Syria: several drones attack a base with U.S. troops

Some sources indicate that the attack was allegedly carried out by pro-Iranian militias. No American soldiers were injured.

This Friday, there was a multiple drone strike against a coalition outpost in Syria. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that three one-way attack drones attacked the At Tanf Garrison in Syria. Two of the drones were shot down by U.S. coalition forces, while one struck the compound injuring two members of the Free Syrian Army partner force who received medical treatment. No U.S. forces were injured.

"Attacks of this kind are unacceptable: they place our troops and our partners at risk and jeopardize the fight against ISIS," said Joe Buccino, a spokesman for CENTCOM. The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, with informants in the Arab country, said the attack would have been executed by pro-Iranian militias. For the time being, no group has come forward to claim credit for the attack.
