Hispanic music is still going strong. This time, thanks to Colombians Shakira and Karol G, who reached number one in music video views on YouTube.
With more than 600 million views, “TQG” became the most-watched video on the platform in the first six months of the year. It was also one of the most talked-about on Twitter, especially because of both artists’ references to their ex-partners.
This is not the first time the singers have set trends so far this year. Shakira's collaboration with Bizarrap on “Music Sessions, Vol. 53” became the top Hispanic premiere on the platform earlier this year, surpassing “Despacito.”
Karol G was the most awarded singer at the Latin American Music Awards 2023. The eight awards she received included tour of the year, streaming of the year and artist of the year.
