Continúa la temporada de premios y, tras celebrarle los Globos de Oro y los Emmy, llega el turno de conocer a los nominados a los BAFTA 2024. La Academia Británica de Artes Cinematográficas y Televisivas anunció a los candidatos a obtener la ansiada estatuilla durante la 77ª edición de los premios británicos. Presentada por el actor británico David Tennant, la gala se celebrará el próximo 18 de febrero en el Royal Festival Hall del Southbank Center de Londres.
Parte como favorita la película de Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer, que acumuló un total de 13 nominaciones entre las que se encuentran Mejor película y Mejor director. Vence por mucho a su compañera de taquilla, Barbie. El largometraje de Greta Gerwig logró cinco candidaturas, entre la que destaca Mejor actriz para Margot Robbie.
Poor Things continúa arrasando en esta temporada de premios. La película protagonizada por Emma Stone acumuló un total de 11 nominaciones, entre las que se encuentra Mejor actriz para la intérprete estadounidense. Le siguen Killers of the Flower Moon y The Zone of Interest, con nueve posibilidades a alzarse con el BAFTA cada una.
Destaca también Society of Snow. La película de Netflix dirigida por el español J.A. Bayona sobre la tragedia de los Andes opta a la estatuilla a Mejor película de habla no inglesa, alzándose como una de las claras favoritas para optar al Óscar en esta misma categoría.
