Marcos Rubio leads Florida polls

Republican senator has an 8-point lead over Val Demings

Senator Marco Rubio has an 8-point lead over former police officer and Democratic candidate Val Demings, on his way to a third re-election bid for U.S. Senate in Florida and according to the latest Center Street PAC poll released this week.

The poll gives Rubio 50% voter support, compared to 42% for Demings. All pollsters give the Cuban-born senator the edge. However, since March, Demings has had her best numbers among Democrats and the unaffiliated, and she has a 27-point gain with those voters.

On the other hand Republicans also outperformed Democrats in voter registration in 2021 and continue to widen that lead. It seems that Demings has only taken the lead over Rubio in raising money. The Democrat has raised 30.5 million to Rubio's 30 million as referenced by Open Secrets.
