White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared to run out of arguments Monday when asked about a poll showing a large majority of voters believe Joe Biden is too old for a second term.
At a news conference, reporter Chris Megerian asked the press secretary if the White House had plans to show that Joe Biden can continue the job of president despite his age. This is after a poll determined that 77% of Americans believe the president is too old to be re-elected.
Jean-Pierre did not seem happy with the question, and all she said was that it was only necessary to see the things that the president has achieved during his administration to see whether or not he can continue. “What I would say — and I’ve said this many times, and many of my colleagues have said this, the president says this — if you watch him. If you have seen what he’s done the last two years, this is a president has [sic] had a historic administration in just two years,” she said. Joe Biden “has been able to do things that is going to change how American families move forward, whether it is economic (...) whether it’s health care.”

Jean-Pierre did not clarify exactly how Joe Biden would be capable of everything, considering that the president is already close to turning 81 and his mental capacity has been questioned several times.

On Monday, Joe Biden appeared to suffer a coughing episode during a visit to a DC school. Shortly after that, the president was seen entering the Oval Office with his personal physician, Kevin O’Conner. However, no further details have been given about the president’s health.
