Jerry Springer died at age 79 Thursday at his home in Chicago, his family confirmed. The storied television host famously hosted the hit talk show The Jerry Springer Show for 27 years (1991-2018).
Sources close to the family told TMZ magazine that Springer had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for several months. In recent weeks, his health condition worsened.
Springer participated in other programs such as Dancing with the Stars or The Mask Singer, where she made her last television appearance singing a Frank Sinatra song. He also made cameos in series such as The Simpsons or Sabrina the Teenage Witch and in films such as Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
Prior to his television career, Springer served as mayor of Cincinatti as a member of the Democratic Party.
