The New York Knicks picked up their seventh straight win after defeating the Washington Wizards 132-136 at Capital One Arena. The New York franchise needed overtime to walk away with the win.

The duel was very close until the third quarter, when the Knicks put on the pressure and gained an eight-point lead. But the Wizards did not give up and in the last quarter they made up the difference to send the game to overtime, although they eventually were defeated.

Jalen Brunson was the star of the game, scoring 55 of the Knicks' 136 points. Also noteworthy were the contributions of Karl-Anthony Towns (30 points and 14 rebounds) and Josh Hart (13 points and 11 rebounds), both recording a double-double.

For their part, the Wizards -the franchise with the worst record of the season so far- played one of their best games. Seven of the eight players who were on the court passed the ten-point barrier. The double-double performed by Justin Champagnie (31 points and 10 rebounds) was remarkable.

Portland stops the Mavericks

After a win at home against the Phoenix Suns, the Dallas Mavericks failed to outplay the Portland Trail Blazers, who came away with a 126-122 victory.

Without Luka Doncic on the court, Kyrie Irving took the helm for the Mavericks and finished the game with 46 points. A great record that was neutralized by the Blazers' starting five, which achieved -each of the five players- double digits in the scoring department.

Another outstanding game of the day was the Californian duel between Los Angeles Lakers and the Sacramento Kings, with victory for the Lakers (132-122) despite the absence of LeBron James. Anthony Davis dominated the paint with 36 points and 15 rebounds and Austin Reaves recovered his best version with 26 points and 16 assists.
