Actor Richard Moll dies at 80

The actor rose to fame thanks to his role as Bull in 'Night Court,' the sitcom that aired on NBC between 1984 and 1992.

Actor Richard Moll died this Thursday at the age of 80. The actor died at his home in Big Bear Lake, California. His publicist Jeff Sanderson who works for Chasen & Company announced the sad news:

Richard Moll was born in Pasadena on January 13, 1943. He graduated from the University of Berkeley, California, and began his acting career at the Will Geer Theater, where he performed works by Shakespeare. He is survived by his children Chloe and Mason Moll; his ex-wife Susan Moll and his stepchildren Cassandra Card and Morgan Ostling.

'Night Court,' the series that made Richard Moll famous

Moll became famous for his role on the sitcom "Night Court." In the series, which NBC aired between 1984 and 1992, he played Bull, a six-foot-tall sheriff who won the public's affection for his lack of intelligence, sensitivity and very childish behavior. There he worked with Harry Anderson, John Larroquette and Marsha Warfield, who were also part of the cast.

However, his big screen debut took place in 1977 with a small role in the movie "Brigham." Moll also voiced the role of Harvey Dent in "Batman: The Animated Series" and for Scorpion in the "Spider-Man: The Animated Series."

Richard Moll also appeared as a recurring character in "The Flintstones" (1994); the 1996 comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, "Jingle All the Way;" "Casper Meets Wendy" and "Scary Movie 2." Additionally, he also appeared in the horror movie "Ghost Shark" (2013) and "Slay Belles" (2018).

Variety recalled that the performer, who retired in 2018, also appeared as a guest star in renowned series such as "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," "7th Heaven" and "Smallville," among many others.
