A video spread on social media showed Jesús Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16 -- accused of killing former California police officer Andreas Probst -- laughing and mocking the victim's family during a court trial.

Crystal Probst, the widow of the deceased officer, declared that this "only makes them look bad" and assured that she was not intimidated by their behavior. She also revealed that she and her daughter intend to continue attending court trials and that they want the case to remain public.

Young, who pleaded not guilty, face charges of "homicide, attempted murder, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, assault, residential burglary, grand theft of a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle," as reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal. This is not the only case in which they are involved. They are also accused of hitting another cyclist hours before hitting Probst and intentionally crashing into more vehicles.

The Andreas Probst hit-and-run case

A video that was made public last September showed that the attack that killed Andreas Probst on Aug. 14 in Las Vegas was intentional.

In the video, the accused were seen deliberately running over the 64-year-old former police officer, who was riding a bicycle, with their car and filming the moment of the murder. They can also be heard honking the vehicle's horn and laughing. They then fled at high speed.

Probst was a police officer in California for 35 years. He became chief of the Bell City Police Department in Los Angeles County. In 2009, he decided to retire and move to Nevada, where he worked remotely for a security company.
