Cher accused of hiring four men to kidnap her son

The singer's daughter-in-law claims in a 2022 court filing that, since the alleged abduction, she has not been allowed to contact her husband.

The award-winning singer and actress Cher allegedly kidnapped her son, Elijah Blue Allman, 47, while he was staying in a hotel in New York. This statement is attributed to Allman's wife, Marieangela King, and supported by court documents collected by the Daily Mail.

The kidnapping is alleged to have occurred on November 30, 2022, when Cher's youngest son and daughter-in-law were trying to get their marriage back on track . It was also the night of their anniversary.

"Four people came to our hotel room and removed [Allman] from our room," King wrote in a court filing for their divorce. "I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by the petitoner's mother."

In the document dated April of last year, King also stated that she did not know the whereabouts or state of health of her husband. Although she had been told at one point that he was receiving treatment in an institution.

Sources at the hotel where the couple were staying also told the Daily Mail that Cher had hired a caretaker to keep an eye on Allman.

The son of Cher and Gregg Allman has a well-known history of addiction. According to Allman's own statements, he began using at the age of 11. British media outlet, The Sun, reported that he is believed to be in an institution in Pasadena, California .

So far, neither the artist, nor her representatives, have responded to the allegations.
