Alicia Navarro, a young woman who went missing in Arizona in 2019 when she was just 14 years old, turned up on Wednesday in Montana, close to the Canadian border. The Glendale Police Department (Arizona), announced that the young woman has been located safe and sound, and in apparent good condition. Alicia Navarro is now 18 years old.

Navarro disappeared one night in September after leaving a note for her parents while they slept. She then left Glendale, and was not heard from again until this week. According to a Glendale Police Department spokesperson, Alicia Navarro voluntarily appeared at a Montana police station where she identified herself to the agents of the border town. Glendale authorities chose not to specify which one. Following this, the Glendale Police Department resumed the investigation.

"Through a series of interviews and with the help of the Navarro family, we can confidently assure that the person we are talking to and dealing with is indeed Alicia Navarro," stated the Gendale Police spokesperson. Lt. Scott Wade, who is in charge of the investigation, added to the spokesman's statements that they are working with the FBI and the Marshals Service to clarify the reasons for Navarro's disappearance and to reunite her with her family.

"We want to ask for patience. It's not just with us investigators and law enforcement, but also with Alicia and her family. We can only imagine what they have been through, mentally and emotionally. As much as we want to say this is the end, this is probably just the beginning," Lt. Wade continued.

According to the Police Department, Alicia asked for privacy, so they did not provide many more details about the investigation. According to statements made by the police and reported by CNN, Alicia Navarro suffers from autism, but she also has high coping abilities.
