A report revealed that the traditional Fourth of July barbecue held in celebration of the holiday costs 15% more since Joe Biden took office.

In 2021, the White House celebrated that the price of traditional cookout foods decreased by 16 cents compared to the previous year. "The Biden economic plan is working," he expressed in a tweet.

However, Just the News reported that traditional barbecue foods cost 15% more this year than in 2020, when Biden had not yet become president.

According to the report, ground beef alone, a staple for grilled burgers, has increased by around 30% since 2020.

The price of hot dogs has also increased by 14% since July 2020, and the cost of chicken and steak went up 21% and 16%, respectively. For beer and other alcoholic beverages, the increase is almost 13% since before Biden became president.

From the American Farm Bureau's (AFB) list of products traditionally purchased to celebrate Independence Day, the only ingredient that actually dropped in price since 2020 is cheese, which decreased in cost by 13%.

"I was surprised to see that hotdogs cost so much. Celebrating the holiday just hurts my wallet a lot more than it used to," John DeCelle of Falls Church, Virginia, told Just the News.

AFB President Zippy Duvall also acknowledged that there has been a cost increase. However, he tried to downplay what this represents for American families by pointing out that "America still has one of the most affordable food supplies in the world."
