Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron issued a limited gag order against Donald Trump after the former president made a social media post against Allison Greenfield, the judge's law clerk.

This Tuesday, during the second day of the civil trial against the former president for the alleged civil fraud of 250 million dollars, the judge in charge of the case threatened to sanction the verbal attacks against his staff.

Personal attacks on members of my court staff are unacceptable, not appropriate ,” said Engoron, highlighting that Trump shared “a disparaging, untrue and personally identifying post” of one of his employees.

The judge was referring to a comment the former president made through Truth Social, in which he claimed that Greenfield had a relationship with Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer.

“Schumer’s girlfriend, Alison R. Greenfield, is running this case against me. How disgraceful! This case should be dismissed immediately!” Trump posted alongside a photo of the judge's law clerk.

The publication has already been deleted, but according to Engoron, the comment has already been sent by email to millions of people, so he assured that he will no longer allow these types of comments. “Failure to abide by this directive will result in serious sanctions,” he stated. The judge did not elaborate further on the sanctions that would be imposed but clarified that the order would not only be for Trump but for all parties in the case.

The first day of the trial

Last Monday, the first day of the trial for alleged tax fraud against Trump, the former president seemed to leave satisfied although he made it clear that he considers the court to be “rigged” and that this entire process is actually a Democratic “operation” to prevent him from reaching the White House.

“The last five minutes was outstanding because the judge essentially conceded that the statute of limitations that we won at the Court of Appeals is in effect. Therefore about 80% of the case is over,” he expressed at the end of the first day of the legal process.

However, we will still have to wait to see how the rest of the procedure goes. The bench trial is scheduled to continue until the end of December.
