Candidates for the 2024 presidential elections had until last Saturday to submit their fundraising reports to the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC). The race for the White House requires fuel. Applicants for the top position also submitted their expenses to the FEC from April through the end of June.

Leading in the sum gathered so far is incumbent President Joe Biden, the strongest candidate according to polls for the Democratic Party primary. According to Biden's campaign team, the president has already amassed $72 million. Since officially announcing his campaign on April 25, Biden has raised nearly $870,000 per day.

Biden has managed to escape the $3,300 limit imposed on individual donations thanks to a joint fundraising agreement with the Democratic National Committee and state committees. The largest single donation to Biden was $929,600.

In second place, and leading the Republicans, Donald Trump comes into July with $35 million in donations. Like Biden, Trump reached an agreement with the Republican National Committee for a joint fundraiser that allows him to circumvent limits on individual donations.

DeSantis ranks third with just over $20 million in funds. It is the second highest total among Republican candidates. DeSantis also ranks second in the GOP primary polls, with Trump leading him by 30 points. The Florida governor has the support of a super PAC that has contributed $130 million to his campaign since March.

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum announced during his campaign launch that he would finance his campaign himself. He kept his promise, and the $11.7 million he declared to the FEC came almost entirely by his own means. Burgum is trying to get more individual donors to reach the minimum quota to participate in the primary debate. He implemented a system of gift packages worth $20 for every $1 donation.

Vivek Ramaswamy does have the minimum individual donors for the Republican primary debate. The candidate announced that he has 65,000 of them, albeit in small amounts. The businessman declared a collection of $7.7 million, of which $5.4 million came from his personal fortune.

Nikki Haley is hot on Ramaswamy's heels. She has gathered $7.3 million in direct donations despite low support for her candidacy, according to polls. A super PAC has backed Haley with about $18.7 million more.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has the second most donations among Democratic candidate, trailing only Joe Biden. The polls have him far behind Biden. Thanks to his donors, he raised $6.4 million by July.

Tim Scott is the latest candidate to get multi-million-dollar donations. The South Carolina senator reaped $6.1 million. Along with money left over from his Senate campaign and funds from a super PAC, Scott has an additional $19 million.

Below all these candidates, Chris Christie managed to raise $1.6 million, Mike Pence $1.2 million, and Francis Suarez has yet to reach $1 million. At the tail end of the donations, Hutchinson declared half a million. Former CIA agent Will Hurd closes the list with $300,000 in donations.
