Joe Biden had cancerous lesion removed from his chest
The White House released the results of the President’s surgery from February 16.
Doctors removed a skin lesion on Joe Biden’s chest that turned out to be basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer, the White House physician said Friday.
Dr. Kevin O'Connor explained that the lesion was located during the president's routine physical exam on February 16. After, Biden announced that he is a "healthy and vigorous" man. However, subsequent analysis of the excised tissue confirmed the presence of cancer.

However, Joe Biden's doctor reported that the president will not need to undergo further treatment although he will need to have regular skin exams as part of his routine health plan.
The doctor explained that the type of carcinoma removed is among the most common forms of cancer and is easy to treat. He stated that basal cell carcinoma lesions do not tend to spread or metastasize like some more serious skin cancers, such as melanoma or squamous cell carcinoma. However, these malignant cells could grow, so they are removed.
The president and the Biden family have a history of cancer. Joe Biden has previously dealt with the disease himself and his son Beau died of brain cancer in 2015.
