Democratic activists launch campaign against Biden
#DontRunJoe is the slogan to ask him not to run again.
More and more sectors of the left are rebelling against Joe Biden and clamoring for him not to run again. This is the case of RootsAction, an organization of Democratic activists, which is going to stand up to Biden's nomination to the White House. In fact, they have launched a campaign to oppose President Biden's re-election in 2024. #DontRunJoe is the slogan they are going to use on social networks to ask him not to run again.
The launch of this campaign, which aims to go viral, is accompanied by a website with the same name: Don't Run Joe (dontrunjoe.org). The initial manifesto contains a harsh criticism of the U.S. president, whom it points out as the main culprit for the country's drift:
The shortcomings of the Biden administration should neither be denied nor used as an excuse to sit out the 2022 midterm election battles. “Moderate” policies have failed to truly address such pressing concerns as the climate emergency, voting rights, student debt, health care, corporate price-gouging, and bloated military spending in tandem with anemic diplomacy.
RootsAction, which defines itself as an entity that "is committed to resisting the policies of the Republican right at all times" already supported the candidacies of Senator Bernie Sanders for the White House in 2016 and 2020. According to this website, the figure of Joe Biden poses a threat to the leadership of the Democratic Party.
He also insists that in the United States we are at a decisive crossroads: "avoiding a Republican takeover of the White House and advancing a truly progressive agenda". It is evident the activism of RootsAction, the driving force behind this campaign. It directly points to the Republicans as 'neo-fascists' and says that a more charismatic candidate, certainly not Joe Biden, is needed to prevent their coming to power:
A president is not his party’s king, and he has no automatic right to renomination. Joe Biden should not seek it. If he does, he will have a fight on his hands.
Criticism of Joe Biden from the Democratic Wing
Dissatisfaction with the U.S. president from the Democratic ranks has already been brought to the table on more than one occasion. In fact, the website Don't Run Joe (dontrunjoe.org) itself collects a series of criticisms (in different media) that speak of Biden's downward spiral:

Even the New York Times (one of the newspapers that has been most supportive of the Democrats) points out that it is time for Biden's withdrawal. Age is one of the most repeated arguments for his departure (the president is 79 years old). The president's public appearances have fueled criticism, especially because of mistakes in his speeches.
Some even point out that these lapses could be due to the exhaustion caused by the burden of being president of the United States. Although there are also those who say that perhaps behind all these confusions there is something deeper. In any case, what is evident is that his popularity is in decline, accumulating the worst ratings so far this term, which puts him far from being in a good position to be reelected president.
