Thousands of workers at several Amazon centers called an international strike during Black Friday. The initiative, Make Amazon Pay, will affect the centers that the technology giant has around the world, including large distribution centers in the United States, Germany and France during one of the most productive days for Big Tech. Thus, workers in forty countries will strike to protest working conditions and demand a wage increase as Big Tech faces a major crisis.

According to Bloomberg, the initiative was convened by a international coalition of trade unions: "It’s time for the tech giant to cease their awful, unsafe practices immediately, respect the law and negotiate with the workers who want to make their jobs better," said Christy Hoffman, general secretary of UNI Global Union, one of the unions organizing the initiative.

For its part, Amazon has denied the labor unions' accusations. David Nieberg, a spokesman for the company, assured that they are "continuing to offer competitive wages and great benefits, and inventing new ways to keep our employees safe and healthy."
