Biden to 'brave right-wing Americans': "to fight against the country, you need an F-15"

The president gave a speech in support of the 'Safer America Plan', which calls for banning assault rifles, but gave the example of an F-15 fighter.

President Joe Biden gave a speech in Pennsylvania in which he supported the passage of the Safer America Plan, a package of measures that include a ban on assault rifles and large-capacity magazines.

At one point in his speech, the president said:

For those brave right-wing Americans that say it's all about keeping America independent and safe, if you want to fight against the country, you need an F-15. You need something a little more than a gun.

In 2021 it was F-15...

In 2021 he already set the example for-15 fighters. He was then speaking from Washington D.C.:

In part of his speech at the time, the president said, "The second amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon."

The Second Amendment states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." All the first amendments to the Constitution amount to a Bill of Rights. So the Second Amendment does not limit gun ownership. What is at issue is the ability of regulations to limit the scope of Americans' right to bear arms.

... and nuclear weapons

In his speech, President Biden goes on to talk about Second Amendment advocates in these terms: "Those who say the blood of lib - “the blood of patriots,” you know, and all the stuff about how we’re going to have to move against the government."

And then he sends them this message: "Well, the tree of liberty is not… What happened is that there has never been… If you wanted or if you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15 and maybe some nuclear weapons."
