Arizona: four dead after a hot air balloon crashes in Eloy

One person was also injured. Authorities are investigating the accident.

The Eloy, Arizona, Police Department reported that a hot air balloon crash in the desert east of Sunshine Blvd. resulted in four fatalities and one injury.

"This morning, a devastating incident occurred in our community. At around 7:50 AM, a hot air balloon crash-landed in the desert area east of Sunshine Blvd. and Hanna Rd. in Eloy, resulting in four fatalities and one critical injury," the police detailed in a statement published on their Facebook account.

The Eloy Police will investigate the incident

In that sense, the Police explained that they are investigating the incident to determine why the accident occurred. They sent condolences to the families of those who died in the incident.

"We are working closely with federal agencies, including the NTSB and FAA, to investigate the cause of this tragic event. While we continue our efforts, we ask for your thoughts and support for the families and loved ones affected during this difficult time," police assured.
