Kanye West sued by paparazzo for snatching and then throwing her phone

The photojournalist said she was filming a confrontation between the rapper and another photographer when the altercation occurred.

A paparazzo filed a lawsuit for assault and violation of her civil rights against famous rap star Kanye West after he grabbed her phone and threw it into the street.

The photojournalist, Nichol Lechmanik, explained at a press conference that she was inside her car when she saw West having a confrontation with another paparazzo, and that's when she decided to film.

However, according to the photographer's account, when the rapper realized she was recording him, he went to her vehicle, grabbed the phone out of her hands, and threw it into the street.

"He reached into my car as if he were going to hit me, he grabbed my phone out of my hand and then angrily threw it into the street. He caused so much fear that I have not been the same since. He has no right to assault me, batter me or cause me to be afraid to pursue my profession," she said.

Although Lechmanik was questioned for violating the celebrity's privacy, she claims she is always respectful when doing her job, so now she wants the artist to face the consequences of his behavior.

"Professional photographers who earn their living by being photographers have the right to do that without being interfered with by a celebrity. He can express his displeasure using words, but he does not have a right to grab someone else's property," said the photojournalist's lawyer, Gloria Allred.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Kanye West has had legal problems due to conflicts with the paparazzi. In fact, in 2008, he was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after breaking the flash of a  photographer's camera.
