Dylan Miles, a man who identifies as a woman and goes by the name Ali, sued the Hot Yoga Chelsea studio for $5 million, in New York City after management asked her to leave the women's locker room and use the men's locker room.
Miles had already been banned from the ladies' dressing room by the studio management. However, at the end of the yoga class Dylan disregarded the rules of the premises and entered the women's private space, provoking complaints about the discomfort felt by some of them.
"This person who claims to be a transitioning woman came into the female locker room, number one, in male shorts that were down to his knees," reported a witness, adding that, although Miles may have taken hormones to enlarge his bust, when he undressed it was apparent that he is "a full male." "There’s 150% man," she said.
The study witness also mentioned that the trans person's reaction was provocative and disturbing because she recited the law generating discomfort in the women who were inside the restroom. "This person, I don’t know if they come to these places to try to start a problem or whatever," he said.

Hot Yoga Chelsea assured that there are other transgender people in the studio and that so far they had not had any inconvenience. But on Miles' part, these kinds of uncomfortable moments don't seem to be new, as this is the third lawsuit he has filed in the city for gender identity discrimination in just over a year. The first lawsuit was against a homeless shelter in the Bronx, where he was allegedly assaulted by a security guard, and the second lawsuit was against Planet Fitness, also for removing him from the ladies' locker room. As reported by the New York Post, this could turn into a huge wave of trans rights lawsuits toward small businesses.
