Woke California is no place for parents: fight or flight?

The measures proposed by the Democrats forced parents to take action while Senator Wilk warned: "If you love your children, you need to flee" the Golden State.

California Democratic politicians' attack on families is forcing parents to take action and defend their rights. Several civil rights and liberty groups are proposing initiatives and calling for parents to protest the new progressive laws being considered by the State Legislature, which directly attack parental authority and custody of minors. Republican State Senator Scott Wilk went so far as to say that "if they love their children, they should flee California" during a vote on a bill that would allow parents who do not affirm their children's gender identity to be charged with "child abuse."

Senator Wilk plans to leave California at the end of his term

The conservative senator ended the debate by saying that, after 11 years in the state senate, he plans to move out of state with his family at the end of this term. Wilk reflected on his time working on policies to protect children. "After 11 years, I've come to the conclusion that we have to start protecting parents."

In the past, when we've had these debates and I've seen parental rights atrophy, I've encouraged people to keep fighting. I have changed my mind on that. If they love their children, they have to flee California. They have to flee. I was born and raised in this state. I love this state, but I'm not going to stay in it. It is too oppressive and I believe in freedom, so I'm going to move to America when I leave the legislature.

California parents continue to take action

Until that time comes, parents and civil rights and civil liberties advocates continue to fight the overwhelming Democratic majority in both state houses (62-18 in the Assembly and 32-8 in the Senate). Groups such as the California Parents Union, Facts Law Truth Justice and Californians for Good Governance have launched campaigns and rallies to encourage parents to come forward and force Senator Scott Wiener and company to rectify the situation.

Initiatives to defend their rights

These organizations invited parents to call the Senate to express their concern with bill AB957, as well as to call congressmen and ask them to vote against the bill. They even encouraged people to bombard their congressman's e-mail with messages about this issue. In addition, they went to the Senate to attend the debate between the legislators as members of the public to express their points of view. They also organized small rallies in the surrounding area to make their presence known. During the session, several people testified about their direct experience as repentant trans people or about their children.

People such as Musk and Shellenberger support parents in California

The battle parents are fighting in California is also being fought in the media. These associations are taking to the mainstream media to blast the news and encourage other parents to unite against the Democratic woke legislative initiatives. In addition, they have garnered the support of well-known people, such as Michael Shellenberger, who said on Twitter that, instead of the politicians' mantra that "we need to protect trans-identified kids from their parents, but we don't. In truth, we need to protect parents from politicians." Even Elon Musk weighed in. He responded to the journalist's post to say that "State-mandated sterilization of children is utterly contemptible! Shame on those who push it."

91% of Californians side with parents

The polls show that the majority of Californians overwhelmingly defend parental rights against government interference. A survey by Rasmussen Reports revealed that 91% of people in California believe that parents, not politicians, should raise children. Even Democratic supporters are overwhelmingly against taking away a parent's custody for not reaffirming their children's gender identity.
