The Biden Administration announced that sending aid to Ukraine has officially been halted due to budget problems.
The announcement was made by John Kirby, the White House National Security Council spokesman, who briefly explained the reasons and insisted on the urgency for Congress to reach a budget agreement soon.
“Updates on military assistance to Ukraine? I mean, has the – has the well really run dry here, or what does it look like?” a reporter asked Kirby on Thursday. The spokesman responded forcefully: “Yes.”

“We have issued the last drawdown package that we had funding to support, and that’s why it’s critical that Congress move on that national security supplementary request and we get more funding,” explained Kirby.
“The assistance that we provided has now ground to a halt. The attacks that the Russians are conducting are only increasing. And now, as I talked about earlier this week, they’re using North Korean ballistic missiles to do their dirty work,” he continued. “So the need is acute right now, particularly in these winter months.”
Kirby’s comments come just as the Pentagon’s inspector general released a controversial report saying the Defense Department failed to properly track $1 billion in military hardware sent to Ukraine.
