Ted Cruz criticizes mainstream media for not covering Joe Biden's alias scandal

"We‘ve seen the corporate media completely silent on this, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, they don’t cover it. It’s not news. Why?," the Republican said.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) sharply criticized the mainstream media for not paying attention to the new scandal involving President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, and their business dealings in Ukraine.

In a podcast episode "Verdict with Ted Cruz," the Republican discussed the recent revelation by the Southeastern Legal Foundation, a nonprofit constitutional legal group that introduced a lawsuit to compel the National Archives (NARA) to hand over nearly 5,400 emails where the Democratic president allegedly used the aliases "Robert Peters," "Robin Ware" and "JRB Ware" to share government information and discuss business with Hunter Biden and other associates during his time as vice president.

"We‘ve seen the corporate media completely silent on this, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, they don’t cover it. It’s not news. Why?," asked Cruz on his show. "Because it counters their official propaganda line. And so they just utterly ignore it."

"The Biden White House has not even tried to suggest a legitimate explanation for this," the senator added. "We haven’t seen Joe Biden answer a single question about this because the Biden White House believes he’s not accountable to the American people."

The controversy surrounding Biden's emails and aliases arises from an email received by one of the vice president's pseudonyms, "Robert L. Peters," dated 2016 and containing the Democratic vice president's agenda.

According to the agenda, Biden had held a meeting with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and the email was about "Ukraine" and "Hunter Biden."

The situation is controversial because Poroshenko was the one who fired former Attorney General Viktor Shokin, who was investigating for corruption the controversial energy firm Burisma, where Hunter Biden served as a director earning more than $ 80,000 per month.

Shokin was fired under explicit pressure from the Obama administration at the time, and Joe Biden was one of the key men behind that move.

According to Ted Cruz, there is no ethical or legitimate reason that justifies Joe Biden's use of pseudonyms in these types of emails.

He also said there was no reason for the then-vice president to use an official government email address to communicate with Hunter Biden about his work in Ukraine.

"If you use a burner email, a fake email, if you use a burner phone —as it’s now been reported Joe Biden did— the natural implication is you’re trying to hide something," Cruz said. "You’re trying to get around the law. There’s a reason you’re hiding who you are. If not, there’s no reason to have the fake email."

"Again, the White House has not attempted to give any innocent explanation for this," the senator added. "And to be honest, I can’t imagine what an innocent explanation would be, but their innocent explanation is, ‘Well, gosh, we’re the White House,’ and so the media doesn’t cover it."
