Special prosecutor in Trump's Georgia case met twice with Biden aides during investigation

Fani Willis has been subpoenaed to testify in the divorce of Nathan Wade, with whom she is accused of having "an improper relationship" prior to selecting him to work on the case against the former president.

The situation surrounding the prosecutors in the case for electoral interference against Donald Trump is only complicating. District Attorney Fani Willis has been subpoenaed to testify in the divorce of Nathan Wade, the attorney she picked as special prosecutor in this case, and with whom, according to another defendant, she has had a romantic relationship for some time. In addition, new documents have surfaced showing that Wade met twice with advisors to Joe Biden while considering whether to file charges against the former president.

Meetings in Athens and Washington

Although neither the content of the conversations nor the identity of the White House aide with whom she met have been revealed, the impartiality of the special prosecutor is being questioned due to the timing of these meetings. They came in the middle of an investigation into the main rival of the current president once he had already announced his intention to run for office again in 2024.

According to accounting records from Wade's law firm presented by Michael Roman's lawyer, Wade met on two occasions with members of the White House while investigating Trump. The first of the meetings occurred on May 25, 2022, in Athens, Ga. The second took place in Washington on Nov. 18 of the same year, just two days after Trump officially announced his candidacy for the presidency in 2024. Wade billed $2,000 for eight hours of work at each of these appointments.
