Problems continue for DeSantis as his largest super PAC’s chief strategist, Jeff Roe, resigns

"I cannot in good conscience stay affiliated with Never Back Down," Roe said following comments from new board Chairman Scott Wagner.

Never Back Down, the largest super PAC backing Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, continues to be embroiled in controversy. Following the resignation of Adam Laxalt and the resignation of CEO Chris Jankowski, the political organization has now lost its chief strategist, Jeff Roe.

The political expert announced his resignation on Saturday night in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that came to light a few hours after The Washington Post published an article in which the new chairman of the board of directors, Scott Wagner, blamed other former employees for the decline of Never Back Down:

Following mismanagement and conduct issues, including numerous unauthorized leaks containing false information, senior officials were terminated. We don’t have time to indulge false narratives from those with ulterior motives.

These statements did not sit well with Jeff Roe, who assured that Wagner's words were false: "They are not true and an unwanted distraction at a critical time for Governor DeSantis," said Roe. Along with this, the political expert reported his "immediate" resignation since, as he himself explained, he could not "in good conscience stay affiliated with Never Back Down":

Neither Never Back Down nor Ron DeSantis' campaign responded to requests for comment from several media outlets. The former president and current candidate for the Republican primaries, Donald Trump, did speak out.
