Kari Lake calls for the resignation of the Arizona Republican Party chairman after an audio is leaked in which he tried to bribe her to not run for the Senate

"We will no longer put up with one more ounce of corruption," said Donald Trump's ally after confirming the veracity of the voice recording.

This Tuesday, Kari Lake demanded resignation from the chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, Jeff DeWit, after audio surfaced revealing an alleged bribery attempt by DeWit to get Lake to withdraw from the state Senate race.

Lake confirmed that the voice recording was real and stated that the American people had had enough corruption and that DeWit should resign. “The people are rising up and saying, no, we want our country back. We want our government back and we will no longer put up with one more ounce of corruption. And the truth is all coming out now,” said Donald Trump’s loyal ally during the former president’s campaign party in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Audio recording of the bribe

According to the DailyMail.com report, DeWit urged Lake to withdraw from the Arizona Senate race while offering her financial compensation and suggesting that there are powerful forces interested in keeping her out of the race.

In the conversation, which took place in early March of last year, DeWit can be heard asking Lake what the price would be for her to stay out of politics for a couple of years. According to the report, there was even a point in the conversation where DeWit made a direct offer to Lake, suggesting the possibility of putting her on the payroll to keep her out of the Senate race. However, Lake’s negative response is firm, arguing that it is not about money but about commitment to the country.

Maricopa Republican Committee Chairman calls for DeWit’s resignation

The recording sparked immediate reactions from the Arizona Republican Party, including Craig Berland, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee, who stated that he will ask for DeWit’s resignation if the allegations turn out to be true.
