The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Eli Cohen, reported that he called the ambassadors of Spain and Belgium for consultation following the comments of the Spanish President Pedro Sánchez; and the Belgian Prime Minister, Alexander De Croo, before the hostages kidnapped by Hamas terrorists were released.
Cohen claimed that Sánchez and De Croo's statements "support terrorism." Cohen posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, "We condemn the false claims of the Prime Ministers of Spain and Belgium who are giving support to terrorism and as a result of their words their ambassadors will be invited to a harsh rebuke conversation."

The Israeli minister said, "Israel is acting according to international law and fighting a murderous terrorist organization worse than ISIS that commits war crimes and crimes against humanity":
We will resume fighting after the ceasefire until the elimination of Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the release of all the hostages.
"The destruction of Gaza is unacceptable"
Cohen's comments came after Pedro Sánchez stated that the way Israel is defending itself against terrorists is "unacceptable" and asked that the Israeli authorities soften their offensive against criminals.
"The indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians, including thousands of children, is completely unacceptable." "Violence will only lead to more violence. We have to replace violence with hope and peace (...) we must offer a future of hope to the Palestinian people," Sánchez said during a press conference with the Prime Minister of Belgium.

Meanwhile, the Belgian Prime Minister pointed out that, in his opinion, "the only way out of this conflict is dialogue." He stressed that "the destruction of Gaza is unacceptable."
"Too many civilians have been killed and as always, the first victims are in general, women and children (...) and the military operation that Israel is conducting to stop the terrorist attacks must respect international humanitarian law," said Alexander From Croo.
