The House Oversight and Accountability Committee released a statement Friday announcing that it will investigate the case of cocaine found last Sunday in the White House.
Through their website, the committee explained that its chairman, Kentucky Republican Rep. James Comer, sent a letter to the director of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS), Kimberly Cheatle, highlighting the alarming nature of the case and the need to evaluate the security practices of the president’s official residence.
“The presence of illegal drugs in the White House is unacceptable and a shameful moment in the White House’s history (...)This incident and the eventual evacuation of staff now clearly raises concerns about the level of security maintained at the White House,” Comer said in his letter.

The representative stressed that Congress funds White House security procedures and recalled that the committee has oversight jurisdiction over USSS operations, so he requested a briefing to discuss the case.
The committee’s decision comes on the heels of the White House’s decision to invoke the Hatch Act as an excuse for not answering questions about the drug found in the west wing of the residence. Many experts considered this absurd because the legislation is irrelevant to this case.
“What the —— does the Hatch Act have to do with cocaine? This is the most ridiculous invocation of the Hatch Act I’ve ever heard,” opined former Bush administration ethics chief Richard Painter.
Hunter spends “a lot of time at the White House”
Right in the middle of finger-pointing that Hunter Biden could be related to the drug found in the White House, James Comer shared his concern about how much time Joe Biden’s son spends in the White House and highlighted that this could pose a risk to national security.
However, the drug is not necessarily what he is most concerned about. Comer explained that more and more details of the committee’s investigation into the Biden family’s alleged criminal scheme and Hunter’s role in it all are being revealed.
