Donald Trump is tweeting again for the first time since January 8, 2021. He did so just a few hours after being officially booked into the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.
On Thursday, the Republican nominee, the favorite to win the GOP presidential nomination, became the first former president to submit to pre-indictment protocol.
In a historic moment, Trump had his mugshot taken and fingerprints recorded in his fourth criminal prosecution this year.
After his brief arrest, the former president was released on bail, spoke to the media and a couple of hours later, he posted an edition of his mugshot with the message "Never Surrender!" on his social networks. Surprisingly, he did it on the "X" platform (Twitter), where he also posted a direct link to his official campaign site.

In brief statements to the press, the former president pleaded not guilty and charged against the country's justice system.
"What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong, and everybody knows that I've never had such support," the Republican said. "We have every right, every single right to challenge an election that we think is dishonest."

Trump's bail order was set at $200,000, an amount previously agreed upon by the authorities and Trump's defense in the days before his appearance in court.
The most costly charge is the alleged violation of Georgia's Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), set at $80,000. The rest of the 12 crimes will cost the former president $10,000 each.
