Gen Z doesn't trust Joe Biden: More than half of young people disapprove of the president's job

Most college and high school students (ages 15-24) do not trust the president as an "effective leader" for their generation.

A Young America's Foundation (YAF) poll revealed that more than half (51%) of young people attending college disapprove of Joe Biden's job as president. The figure shows a 23% increase in their level of disapproval compared to 2021.

Nearly half (47%) of high school students also disapprove of the president's work.

The survey "offers a deep dive into the thoughts and concerns of American youth," according to the organization. It involved more than 1,650 young people who are currently high school, and university students (15 to 24 years old).

Fewer than four in ten students are confident in Biden´s abilities as a leader

The survey also revealed that fewer than four in ten students trust Joe Biden's abilities "as an effective leader for young people." Fifty four percent of university students said they do not trust the president's abilities to provide opportunities for young people. Fifty three percent of high school students felt the same.

The vast majority of university students (74%) are in favour of establishing a maximum age limit of 70 years to be president. Sixty eight percent of high school students said they wanted the same. This age is lower than that of President Joe Biden (80 years) and that of his main rival – according to a large number of polls – for the 2024 elections, Donald Trump (77 years).

Young people said that among the main issues they are most concerned about are: the economy (38% college - 37% high school students), school safety (29% college - 45% high school), and gun laws (36% college - 27% high school).
