Florida representative Carolina Amesty presents "Bentley's Law" on Voz Media

The Republican introduced in the state House the bill that ensures the economic well-being of minors who lose one of their parents due to a crash caused by a drunk driver.

About 31% of all traffic deaths in the nation involve drivers whose blood alcohol level exceeds legally established limits.

A bill initially introduced in Missouri protects the economic well-being of minors who lose a parent due to a crash caused by a drunk driver. Currently, more than a dozen states are seeking to pass or draft rules similar to the well-known "Bentley's Law."

In Florida, Republican State Representative Carolina Amesty presented the versioned bill for the state and in Voice Media declared that the purpose of the rule is "to take care of children," and which is approved, - among other things - a minor who is orphaned due to the death of one of his parents (caused by a drunk driver) must receive support (financial compensation from the guilty driver) until he fulfills the of age.
