Brazil to require visas for citizens of the United States, Australia and Canada

The measure will go into effect this Thursday. "If you already have a valid physical visa in your passport for your visit, you do not need to apply for a new one. Those arriving in Brazil by air, sea or land can access the online visa application form here," explained Brazilian authorities.

Brazilian authorities informed that citizens of the United States, Australia and Canada will need visas to enter the country as of this Thursday. The information was published on the official page where the procedure will take place.

"As of April 10, 2025, passport holders from Australia, Canada and the United States will need a visa to enter Brazil," the website explained.

"If you already possess a valid physical visa in your passport for your visit's purpose, you do not need to apply for a new visa. For those arriving in Brazil by air, sea, or land, the online visa application form is accessible here," it added.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Brazil explained how to make the visa application. "share this information with family, friends, and colleagues who are planning to visit.  As of April 10, 2025, all U.S. nationals will need a visa to enter Brazil," highlighted the U.S. Embassy.
