The United States warned Iran about sending ballistic missiles to Russia. It was State Department spokesman, Vedant Patel, who stated that the U.S. government and its allies are "deeply concerned" after learning that Tehran could send more ballistic weapons to Vladimir Putin's government.

Along with this, Patel stated in a press conference that both the United States and the rest of the countries are prepared to "deliver a swift and severe response" if Iran continues with its threats, as reported by Newsweek.

"Together we are prepared to deliver a swift and severe response if Iran were to move forward with the transfer of ballistic missiles which would in our view represent a dramatic escalation in Iran's support for Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine."Vedant Patel, U.S. State Department spokesman

In addition, the State Department spokesman assured that they have been detecting for some time a deepening of the relationship between Iran and Russia, with the latter at war against Ukraine since 2022, presenting it an enormous military, civilian and economic cost. This collaboration, Patel said, is a major threat to Europe and, ultimately, the entire world.

"We've been warning of the deepening security partnership between Russia and Iran since the onset of Russia's onset full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This partnership threatens European security and illustrates how Iran's destabilizing influence reaches beyond the Middle East around the world."Vedant Patel, U.S. State Department spokesman

Iran's collaboration with Russia is well known. Since the Putin government began the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Tehran has been providing the Russians with UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) as well as guided aerial bombs and artillery munitions.

However, Iranian officials continue to claim that they are not helping Russia, despite various reports to the contrary.

"Iranian officials also continue to deny providing any UAVs to Russia when evidence is plain for the world to see that Russia has used these UAVs in relentless attacks against the civilian population in Ukraine, against civilian infrastructure," Patel told reporters as he again reiterated that the U.S. will not allow Iran to continue to provide weapons to Russia during the offensive in Ukraine.
