What was expected to be a fun weekend full of family time and celebration at the Notting Hill Carnival ended in violence. At the event, at least eight people were stabbed, several police officers were injured and another was sexually assaulted. In addition, 275 people have been arrested so far, according to Daily Mail.

"Once again Notting Hill Carnival marred by serious violence - and attacks on Police Officers. 75 of our colleagues assaulted. Six bitten. One sexually assaulted. One in hospital. This is absolutely disgusting. No wonder our members dread policing this event," the Metropolitan Police Federation posted on X (Twitter).

After the event, pictures and videos were posted on social media showing a group of people running down the street dressed in black. One of them was holding what appears to be a machete. Most of the subjects were wearing ski masks.

A video of a woman twerking on a police officer was shared on social media. The videos sparked controversy online because it is an event that is supposed to be celebrated with family.
