Justin and Sophie's story

Sophie Gregoire and Justin Trudeau met 20 years ago. The Canadian Prime Minister told the story of how they met in his biography. It happened in the summer of 2003. She was a television reporter in Quebec, her home province, and he was an economist and politician. Both were guest hosts at a Starlight Children's Foundation Gala.

They got married two years after they met. She left her job to focus on her husband's political career at remained by his side for three election cycles. However, over the last few years, Sophie Gregoire has taken a step back and started not accompanying her husband to his campaign events or governmental visits abroad.
