New York has a white Christmas Eve
Residents woke up Tuesday with their streets covered in snow. The precipitation will weaken as the hours go by.
The snow left iconic images in New York before Christmas. Residents of the Big Apple woke up Tuesday to their city blanketed in white, although it was not thick enough to cause complications in getting around the streets.
The National Weather Service (NWS) of New York was sharing images of the New York roads covered with snow through social media.
In addition, the agency granted citizens a snow report with the evolution of precipitation, which will diminish as the hours progress.
"Snow may provide one to two inches of accumulation for areas north of NYC. As they head eastward, they will begin to weaken, leaving less than an inch for NYC and areas to the east. Sunny with cold, dry weather will follow through Christmas Day," the NWS reported.
In New Jersey, there was also snow, although to a lesser extent than in New York. Specifically, precipitation fell in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union Counties.
