A new police report revealed that the perpetrator in the Nashville Christian elementary school shooting that killed six people on Monday was a transgender alumna of the school.

A few hours after the fatal shooting, Nashville Metro Police Chief John Drake released new information about the person who attacked the school.

The report stated that the perpetrator was identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, a 28-year-old Nashville resident who identified herself as "he." The transgender woman had studied at the school and had a detailed manifesto of the attack.

"We have a manifesto, we have some writings that we’re going over that pertain to this day," Drake said announcing that Hale was actually ready to do more damage than she did.

Drake also indicated that with the finding of this new information, they are investigating whether the fact that Hale was transgender had any bearing on the fatal shooting she carried out.

"We're investigating all the leads," he asserted.

It should be noted that the school, which was founded in 2001, focuses its curriculum on biblical theology and has the motto "shepherding hearts, empowering minds, celebrating childhood".

Treatment banned

Earlier this month, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a bill into law that bans sex change treatments for minors. The bill will take effect on July 1 of this year.

"It helps the minor children who otherwise might be subjected to surgical procedures that remove body parts or being prescribed medications that make permanent changes to a child’s body," the Republican governor said.

Change of gender in identity documents

The Tennessee Senate also moved forward by passing a bill that would prohibit people from being able to change gender markers on identity documents.
