The presidential election is getting closer and closer. With just 32 days to go until the vote, Donald Trump was endorsed by hundreds of national security officials, former cabinet members and Gold Star families.

"I am honored to join over 370 of my colleagues from the @realDonaldTrump cabinet & administration together with Gold Star families & officials from past administrations in supporting a return to a "peace through strength" foreign policy under President Trump & Senator @JDVance," Robert O'Brien, former national security advisor, wrote on X.

The group's endorsement was made official in a letter in which the signatories expressed concern about how U.S. power has been weakened in the world. They hold the Joe Biden administration responsible for endangering the country's national security.

"This year, the American people will make their voices heard at the ballot box. The 2024 presidential election comes at a critical time in world affairs. The policies of the Biden-Harris Administration have invited conflict, diminished America’s standing around the globe, and imperiled our national security. Over the last four years, peace throughout the world has been upended by America’s emboldened adversaries," the letter said.

The group detailed that during Donald Trump's administration, the country's peace was maintained. In addition, they criticized the open borders policy pushed by the Biden-Harris administration.

"With multiple escalating wars around the world, an open border that allows terrorists to flood into the American homeland, and malign actors like China operating unabated, U.S. national security has been profoundly damaged by the failed policies of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden," the letter noted.

The endorsement was signed by several prominent Trump administration officials, including former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former Attorney General Bill Barr. It also has the support of former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former 2024 Republican presidential nominee Nikki Haley.

The signatories also include other former U.S. ambassadors and at least 75 retired military personnel.

In that regard, at least 11 relatives of the 13 soldiers killed at the Abbey Gate of Kabul airport during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 also signed the letter.

"The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan under the Biden-Harris Administration in 2021, led to the unnecessary deaths of thirteen brave American troops at Abbey Gate and left untold billions of dollars of high grade military equipment to the Taliban, making it the most well-armed terror organization in the world," the letter argued.

Similarly, it highlights that "securing peace is in the greatest tradition of American foreign policy and the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our nation was founded."
