After eight days of intense testimony in Donald Trump's civil fraud trial, the former president's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, took the stand to discuss her role in the Trump Organization's financial reporting and obtaining loans.

Ivanka Trump's appearance was one of the most anticipated. However, her appearance was not as controversial as some expected. For much of the day, the former president's daughter answered the prosecutor's questions, focusing on her father's financial statements and the negotiations of Deutsche Bank loans for the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Florida.

Prosecutors have argued that Trump inflated his net worth to get better loan rates. During the trial, they showed emails and other documents allegedly showing Ivanka negotiated more favorable loan terms based on allegedly fraudulent statements.

However, the president's eldest daughter testified that she was not in charge of preparing her father's financial documents and stated that she had no knowledge of who did.

"[I'm] sure he [Donald Trump] has accountants who have all sorts of stuff who have all sorts of statement but no, sorry, I don't specifically know what was prepared on his behalf for him as a person separate and distinct from the organization and the properties that I was working on," she stated, reiterating that she was not involved in the Donald Trump's financial situation.

Throughout her testimony, Ivanka appeared calm and willing to collaborate with justice. New York Attorney General Letitia James recognized this.

"Ivanka Trump was cordial. She was disciplined. She was controlled," she said, although shortly afterward, she suggested that she distrusted her testimony. "Her testimony raises questions with regards to its credibility (...) she clearly was involved in negotiating and securing loans, favorable loans, for the benefit of the Trump Organization, for Mr. Trump and her brothers and for herself," she added.

It is important to note that Ivanka Trump is not being charged in this case. An appeals court dismissed the charges against her, considering them too old since the former president's eldest daughter left her position in the family business in 2017.
