Joe Biden gave a speech to the nation to explain why Israel and Ukraine need a substantial economic aid package from the United States Government.

The president asked Congress to approve about $14 billion for Israel and another $60 billion for Ukraine to help them deal with the ongoing wars. Biden’s speech came after returning from his whirlwind trip to show solidarity with Israel.

In his speech, the president linked the two conflicts and said that “Hamas and Russian President Vladimir Putin represent different threats,” but they have something in common: “They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy.”

“We can’t let petty partisan angry politics get in the way of our responsibility as a great nation. We cannot and will not let terrorists like Hamas and tyrants like Putin win. I refuse to let that happen,” he said.

Biden noted that aid to Israel will go toward sharpening Israel’s military advantage and replenishing batteries for the Iron Dome.

Biden also assured that wars are a national security imperative and a critical moment for the future of American leadership and democracies worldwide.

“American leadership is what holds the world together. Our alliances are what keep us safe. And our values are what make us a partner that other nations want to work with. We put all of that at risk if we walk away from Ukraine or turn our back on Israel,” the president tweeted.

On the other hand, Biden stated that he secured an agreement for the first shipment of humanitarian assistance from the United Nations to Palestinian civilians in Gaza, which opens an opportunity for the sustained delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance.

Likewise, the president reaffirmed his commitment to rescue the American hostages kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.

“As I told the families of Americans being held captive by Hamas, we’re pursuing every avenue to bring their loved ones home,” he commented.

Israel did not bomb the hospital in Gaza

In his speech, Biden denounced the lies of the Hamas-led Palestinian Health Ministry, which falsely accused Israel of bombing a hospital and allegedly killing 500 people, claims that senior officials and experts have refuted.

“I’m heartbroken by the tragic loss of Palestinian life, including the , which was not done by the Israelis,” he stated from the Oval Office.

“We mourn every innocent life lost. We can’t ignore the humanity of innocent Palestinians who only want to live in peace and have an opportunity,” he concluded.
