Vivek Ramaswamy joins Republican race and announces 2024 presidential candidacy

Conservative businessman Vivek Ramaswamy announced Tuesday night his candidacy for president in 2024, entering the Republican Party race with former President Donald Trump and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Ramaswamy announced his candidacy in an interview on Fox's Tucker Carlson Tonight. He took advantage of the opportunity to announce what his first measures would be if he were to become president. He would end affirmative action; abandon climate religion; completely decouple from China, and limit the terms of office of federal bureaucrats to eight years.

The entrepreneur is the son of Indian immigrants. He is a strong advocate of meritocratic policies and an opponent of progressive initiatives such as critical race theory. The New Yorker magazine named him "CEO of Anti-Woke, Inc." a few months ago.

Ramaswamy intends to kick off the campaign by visiting New Hampshire, one of the critical states for Republicans in the primaries.
