Gold Cup 2023: USMNT wins 6-0 to advance to quarterfinals as group leader
The U.S. team took no mercy on Trinidad and Tobago and scored 6 times. Back to back hat tricks by striker Jesús Ferreira.
The United States dominated the pitch at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The USMNT soundly defeated Trinidad and Tobago 6-0, the same result they achieved in their previous game against St. Kitts and Nevis.
Three goals by Jesus Ferreira before the end of the first 45 minutes of play left the USMNT with the win all but wrapped up. The same number of goals he scored in the previous game against St. Kitts and Nevis. After the break, the United States did not relax and went out to extend their lead on the scoreboard. Forward Cade Cowell, midfielder Gianluca Busio and forward Brandon Vazquez rounded out the scoring for their team.
With this victory, the Americans qualify for the quarterfinals as group winners. Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago played its final game of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
