Golden Globes 2024: 'Barbenheimer' triumphs once again

"Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" dominate the nominations for the 2024 Golden Globes. The list of nominees for the awards, which recognize the best in film and television, was released Monday. The latest season of "Succession" also led with nine nominations.
"Congratulations to all of the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards nominees!" the official Golden Globes account wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
In the case of "Barbie," Greta Gerwig's film based on the iconic doll led with nine nominations, including Best Comedy.
"Oppenheimer," Christopher Nolan's drama about the pioneer of the atomic bomb, followed with eight nominations, including Best Drama. "Killers of the Flower Moon" and "Poor Things" were also among the nominees, with seven nominations each. Among the nominated actors are: Emma Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cillian Murphy.
The awards ceremony will take place on Jan. 7. It will be the 81st edition of the awards given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS as part of a new agreement between the Golden Globes and the network. The ceremony will also be available to stream on Paramount+ and the CBS app.
