At least four people were killed Wednesday in a shooting at a Southern California biker bar. Authorities said at least six other people were taken to hospitals, five with gunshot wounds and two in critical condition. Among the dead is the alleged shooter, who was killed by agents.

The shooting occurred at Cook's Corner, a bar in the small rural community of Trabuco Canyon in Orange County, southeast of Los Angeles. It is a meeting point for motorcyclists.

The alleged shooter was a retired law enforcement officer and died instantly. The alleged shooter worked in the Ventura department since 1986 and retired until 2014 , according to the Ventura County Star.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom was monitoring the shooting "and coordinating with local authorities as more details become known," his office said.
