All top government officials record negative approval rating

A Gallup poll revealed that none of the highest-ranking U.S. government officials managed to obtain approval higher than 50%.

Not Antony Blinken, not Chuck Schummer, much less Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Not one of them or any other senior government official has an approval rating above 50%.

A Gallup poll carried out between Dec. 1 and 20 revealed that all of the highest-ranking government officials failed to pass the job performance index. The person with the highest rating is Chief Justice John Roberts. He achieved an approval rating of 48%, although it is much lower than what he obtained in 2021, when this figure stood at 60%.

The second highest ranking official was House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The New York Democrat obtained an approval rating of 46%, while Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell obtained the lowest approval rating at just 27%, compared to the 34% he achieved in 2021.

Joe Biden second to last in approval rating

President Joe Biden obtained a better percentage than McConnell, ranking second lowest among senior government officials with a 39% rating. This figure is slightly lower than what the president recorded in 2021, when his approval rating stood at 43%.

Kamala Harris, the vice president of the United States, also failed the job performance index. With 40%, the Democrat obtains the same result as House Speaker Mike Johnson.

The survey makes clear is that all leaders declined in the job performance index since 2021, showing that Americans are not only dissatisfied with Biden, but with all senior officials. This was the opinion of professor of politics at the Oklahoma State University, Seth McKee, who assured ABC 33 40 that the results show a "divided electorate and polarization coupled with short-term discontent in the political world," which could indicate a scenario of change in the next presidential election.
