The Biden Administration has designated Dr. Jeanne Marrazzo to be the new director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), one of the lead agencies of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She will assume the position in the fall, replacing Dr. Hugh Auchincloss Jr. who was at the helm on an interim basis following the resignation of Dr. Anthony Fauci. The researcher became famous for spreading false information about covid-19 and vaccines while saying that it was certain doctors who were wrong.
The Epoch Times newspaper compiled several of the erroneous comments of what will be one of the leading advisors on science and medicine. One of her false clarifications was to say that one in ten people who contracted the virus were going to die. "It’s somewhat callous to say that 90 percent are going to survive because you are completely disregarding the 10 percent of people who didn’t survive," she said in 2020.
Another was to state that people would lose natural immunity to any covid-19 variant within half a year, contradicting other scientific studies that corroborated the contrary and ignoring the natural immunity defended by several researchers. "By six months, people are pretty much done. There's almost nothing there to protect you." Dr. Marrazo is a staunch advocate of mass vaccination even for those who have already contracted the virus.
Dr. Marrazzo promoted vaccines before they were approved, such as that of Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. According to The Epoch Times article, it was shown that, since 2016, the researcher has received around $180 million from several pharmaceutical companies, including Janssen itself.
