A third of Americans believe that Joe Biden was elected president of the nation in 2020 illegitimately, according to a new poll by The Washington Post and the University of Maryland.
The poll asked "Regardless of whom you supported in the 2020 election, do you think Joe Biden’s election as president was legitimate, or was he not legitimately elected??":
More than one-third of Americans, or 36 percent, do not accept Biden’s victory as legitimate.
The survey, according to The Washington Post examines the evolution of opinions regarding the events of Jan. 6, 2021, at the Capitol and details that "older Americans are slightly more likely than younger ones to say Biden was legitimately elected, as are voters with college degrees."

On the other hand, the survey revealed that former President Donald Trump remains the favorite among Republican Party voters to win the primary and return to the White House in 2024.
The survey was conducted Dec. 14-18 among 1,024 American adults.
