Taylor Swift breaks the world grossing record with 'The Eras Tour'

The artist reached the historic figure of more than $1 billion in gross income from her tour, surpassing Elton John.

Taylor Swift broke a new record in 2023. The artist reached - with more than $1 billion - the highest figure in history in gross income earned from a concert tour.

The middle Pollstar published an estimate of $1,039,263,762 as the gross profit generated by ticket sales for Swift's concerts (it calculated the amount by analyzing ticket prices and the capacity of the venues she filled at her shows that included The Eras Tour).

Swift fans or people who attended one of her concerts spent an average of $238.95 to go see her show. The most expensive ticket -VIP- cost almost $900:

Swift, 33, achieved this in just eight months, in which she performed 60 shows coinciding with the Pollstar chart year (November 17, 2022 – November 15, 2023) (...) In that time, sold a staggering 4.3 million tickets at an average price of $238.95, putting their average show gross at a whopping $17,321,063 for this leg of the tour. It should be noted that the average price of their ticket was not even the highest. Of the top 20 tours on the 2023 World Tours list, she was the fifth highest.

According to Pollstar, Elton John held the previous record with his Farewell Tour ($939 million at the end of his 55-year career).
